From Junior Golfer to Accomplished Coach

Barry began his golfing journey at the Isle of Purbeck Golf Club as a junior in 1995. Over the years, he represented the club at every level, winning numerous prestigious competitions — including the Club Championship in 2006.

Professional Career

After turning professional in 2008 at Knighton Heath Golf Club, Barry worked under several respected local PGA professionals, developing extensive expertise in coaching, club fitting, and customer service.

With over 17 years of coaching experience, he has built a strong reputation as one of the region's leading coaches.

County Coaching & Player Development

From 2019 to 2022, Barry coached the Girls U18 County Squad during his time at Broadstone Golf Club, helping to nurture some of the area's most promising young golfers. His passion for player development and technical precision shines through in every lesson.

Junior & Ladies Coaching

Barry leads the Isle of Purbeck Junior Academy every Saturday morning, inspiring and supporting the next generation of golfers.

He also runs Ladies Beginner Group Sessions on Monday and Tuesday mornings — a relaxed, social, and supportive environment for women of all ages to try golf for the first time and meet new people.

Coaching Trips Abroad

Each year, Barry hosts coaching trips to top golfing destinations including Spain, Portugal, and Turkey. These trips combine expert tuition, championship golf, and plenty of time to relax and socialise with fellow golfers.

The next trip will take place in February 2026 at the Gloria Resort, Turkey.

This event is fully booked, but additional trips are planned later in the year.
